Multiplication + Addition Commutative Shapes

Two sets of 24 colour coded plastic triangles. Set 1 Commutative additionSet 2 Commutative multiplication.

Both sets demonstrate and consolidate the commutative concept when adding or multiplying numbers:

e.g. 7 + 9 = 9 + 7
5 x 8 = 8 x 5.

In each case, the like properties on the triangular shapes can be linked to form a chain, a random pattern or to complete a 24-piece hexagon.

These shapes can be used as an activity for one student working alone or as a game for 2 to 4 players.
