Dolch 1st 100 Words

A set of 100 cards for learning the first hundred Dolch words. Having instant recognition of these high-frequency words will help students' reading fluency and speed.

Sight recognition is necessary for these words as many of them don’t follow common spelling patterns and cannot be sounded out. The cards can be used in many ways - instructions and game suggestions are included. Learning in blocks of 5-10 at a time is a manageable target for most students.

In this example 4 cards have been laid out. The teacher gives clues to help the student identify the word – for example: this word starts with ‘l’ and rhymes with ‘’bike’ (like).
